Shackerley takes up residence at Material Source in Manchester

As part of our commitment to engaging with architects and specifiers, we have become a partner at Material Source, with a permanent installation at their Manchester Studio, a stone’s throw from Victoria Station. We are always keen to showcase our systems, materials and prefabrication capabilities to architects and specifiers, regularly hosting tours at our ISO 9001 certified factories in Lancashire. But we recognise that time is precious and that travelling to site at our HQ is a big time commitment, so our partnership with Material Source provides the ideal space and location to experience our products and meet with our team.

Material Source is a multi-channel resource for architects and specifiers, with studios in London and Glasgow as well as Manchester, where members can explore architectural products from a wide variety of partners, attend events and CPDs, take part in meetings, or catch up with work in the spacious and welcoming co-working space. Membership of Material Source is free for architects, specifiers, main contractors, or any professional involved in the built environment sector, enabling members to stroll around the exhibits, use the space, and attend events and CPDs as often they choose. You can sign up online, or simply go to the Manchester Studio and sign-up on arrival.

Shackerley is the only prefabricated facade manufacturer partner at the Material Source Studio in Manchester and our installation is in a prime position, greeting members as they walk through the entrance. In addition to the exhibits, members can use meeting rooms, quiet work booths and co-working spaces to work or chat with colleagues, making the Material Source Studio a great place for working, networking, or learning, whether you are based in Manchester or just visiting for the day.

Alongside the Studio, the Material Source Website is also a rich resource of insight and information for architects and specifiers, and Shackerley has a partner page online. We will also be supplying editorial content for the Material Source website, beginning with an article on the ISO 17870-3:2023 standard for porcelain cladding.

Our installation at Material Source Studio Manchester includes examples of all our cladding materials – including SureStone^®, porcelain stone, quarried stone and brick – as well as cross sections of the SureClad^® and BrickClad^® systems and our ‘Gateway Pack’ SureWall^® through-wall BSA compliant component build-up display for HRB projects, together with opportunities to browse images of completed Shackerley projects.
