Shackerley secures 'all-encompassing' BBA certification for SureClad®

As a result of recent advances in manufacturing technology, specifiers of ceramic granite ventilated cladding systems can choose from an ever-increasing array of large panel formats. Now for the first time, thanks to Shackerley, architects wanting to use some of the very largest ceramic granite façade panels available can specify an offsite prefabricated façade system, designed and manufactured in the UK, that also offers the reassurance of British Board of Agrément (BBA) certification.

Shackerley is in the unique position of having attained BBA certification for its SureClad® Access and Hang On systems that specifically covers the use of larger format ceramic granite façade panel formats measuring up to 1200mm x 1200mm.

The patented SureClad® systems comprise specially prefabricated panels, mechanically (and invisibly) fixed using a well proven undercut anchorage system, to a uniquely versatile framework of high grade aluminium horizontal support rails and brackets. They have been assessed by the BBA not only for compliance with current Building Regulations but also for meeting the more demanding guidelines set out by the Centre for Window and Cladding Technology, the country's leading authority on façade engineering technology.

Shackerley founder and Chief Executive Brian G Newell commented: "Within our SureClad® Collection architects will find an vast range of ceramic granite facade panels, including the very latest large formats which provide exciting aesthetic design options for external envelopes of new and refurbished buildings, and in particular for projects of a larger scale."

"Having invested heavily in our own bespoke and highly specialised engineering facilities at our ISO 9001 certified factory in Lancashire, we have the in-house capability to fully prefabricate these exceptionally large ceramic granite slabs and transform them into installation-ready SureClad® façade panels."

Brian concludes: "Our SureClad® ceramic granite ventilated cladding systems are already specified on a regular basis by the UK's leading architectural practices and over the past decade our façades have been used to enhance and protect landmark buildings right across the health, education, retail, hotel, residential and general commercial sectors. BBA certification across such a diverse product offer, including the latest 1200 x1200mm panels, can only help to convince those who remain unfamiliar with SureClad® to specify our systems for their future cladding projects."
