Paving Blocks
With
its paving glass blocks, Shackerley offers numerous architectural
possibilities. Be it for illuminating skylight purposes or
decorative floor
elements, the areas in which these blocks can be used are
almost unlimited.
Particularly sophisticated luminous effects can be achieved
with stairs made of
glass paving blocks.

The
hollow glass paving
blocks BG 198 and
B 191 type are manufactured
through the compression
process using two-part welded
paving glass as per DIN 4233
however with a higher heat
transmission coefficient.
These are used for making
insulating translucent concrete
skylights as per DIN 1045,
Section 20.3.
The dynamic load is up to 5
kN/m2. |
Types
B16,B20,BG6,BG10,B117,R117 and B 1580 are manufactured through
the compression process for solid paving glass as per DIN 4243.
These are
used for making translucent concrete skylights and constructions
with
reinforced glazed ribbed concrete as per DIN 1045, Section 20.3.
The dynamic
load is up to 5 kN/m2.
Types B117,R117 and B1580 are also authorised for traffic constructions
in
certain cases (construction height >= 12cm). These types
of paving blocks
should not be considered in the calculations as static factors.
Three dimensional load-bearing structures in accordance with
DIN 1045 (with
shell types and folded plate structures) are only permitted
with the use of model
R117 glass paving blocks over the entire thickness of the reinforced
glass
concrete. |
