Shackerley adds third dimension to Sureclad ceramic granite façades

Shackerley has extended the versatility and aesthetic appeal of its Sureclad ceramic granite ventilated cladding systems, with the introduction of a new and innovative styling option that literally adds a third dimension to its market leading façades.

Sureclad “Classic Detail” is a method of prefabricating large format ceramic granite panels in such a way that the design scheme of the resulting façade incorporates recessed horizontal joints.

The visual appearance of a Sureclad Classic Detail façade differs considerably from a standard 8mm flush jointed ceramic granite façade. It delivers a style reminiscent of the elegantly dressed stone exteriors of many historic and prestigious municipal buildings found in major towns and cities across the UK and beyond.

Classic Detail can be used in conjunction with Shackerley’s Sureclad Hang On system which has been specifically designed to cater for Shackerley’s largest format ceramic granite façade panels. The design feature can be incorporated into façades installed using ceramic granite panels of any size and the recessed joints can measure up to 50mm.

Architects have long incorporated reveals and joint patterns to achieve scale and grandeur on elevations. The same effect can now be achieved with ceramic granite ventilated façades which, until now have been thought of as being sleek, uniform and almost universally two-dimensional.

For the creative specifier wishing to emphasise the visibility and effect of the recessed joints further still, Shackerley is offering the facility to draw upon the extensive Sureclad ceramic granite portfolio and employ façade and infill panels of contrasting colourways.

Shackerley Group CEO Brain Newell commented: “Ventilated cladding is an ideal way to enhance, upgrade and protect new and existing buildings and ceramic granite is widely recognised as an ideal material for this application. Its intrinsic strength, hardness, impermeability and low maintenance put it in a performance class of its own. It’s also a premium quality material with impressive visual appeal and a massive colour palette and range of finishes to choose from. With our new Classic Detail feature, we are giving specifiers yet another range of aesthetic design options and more reasons than ever to specify Sureclad for their next project.”
